How long have you been in business?
Chuck Gilmore, owner and operator of GP&D Restoration, began his career as a painter in 1978. In 1980 I started like so many businesses with weekend and evening work around my full-time job. Over time I developed a talent for painting, staining and home repairs. 1995 was the year the business became my livelihood and I have continued to increase in knowledge and skill.
What is your primary product or service?
The primary service we offer is our painting. Though we stain and refinish a lot of wood doors, windows and occasional floor once in awhile. The restoration part of the business is focused on residential work. We also do a far amount of historic renovation, removing that old popcorn ceiling texture, repairing drywall and wallpaper removal.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Really what gave me the inspiration to become a painter was the kind of painters there are in the field of painting. Perhaps not in a positive way because I noticed many painters had substance abuse problems and cheated their customers. I wanted to change that stereotype and offer property owners a positive alternative. To that end, I became the first accredited paint contractor in a five state region through the oldest trade association in America. Furthermore, I maintain an excellent rating with the BBB
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Along with the above of how I became to choose this profession, I am very sincere to my word, offer quality solutions for property owners to get the best for what they are looking for and have a long list of very happy customers to those ends.

How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Like the majority of service based businesses we too are based out of the house. I have a one-bay stand alone garage off to the side of the house we call the "shop" and have a room in the back of the house for an office. No, no plans to expand to multiple locations; just keep the focus on quality and integrity.

We are a residential and commercial service business that provides painting, staining and repair work for property owners. We come to your place and visit to get a good idea of what your goals you are looking to achieve. Our visits do not cost you anything, except perhaps an honest assessment of whether we are a good fit for your project.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash is king of course but we do take checks, major credit cards and at times some bartering.
Which areas do you service?
We service Lakewood and surrounding areas with interior & exterior; commercial & residential painting & surface repair services. Our agreed upon boundaries are we go as far west as Evergreen, Golden, Bergen Park, and Ken Caryl. The eastern boundary is Denver proper�s eastern city limit. To the north we cover Wheat Ridge, Arvada, and Applewood. South we cover Littleton, Greenwood Village, Cherry Creek Village and Englewood.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?

What are your hours of operation?
Normal business hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday thru Friday; Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM. Of course, field operations sometimes extend beyond the normal and we are not opposed except Sunday is the day of rest.
